Solid brass, nickel, or blackened steel — never plated pot metal. Hardware is the first thing to fail on cheap gear.

Measured over the coat you actually wear, not a street-clothes size chart. If your numbers look wrong, I call before I cut.
Edges finished four ways
Beveled, sanded, slicked, and waxed. A raw edge drinks water and rots; a burnished one sheds it for decades.
Repaired, not replaced
Re-stitching, resizing, and hardware swaps on anything I made are free for as long as you're on the job. You cover shipping.

What actually goes
into one strap.
St. Louis tannery, 140 years running. Vegetable-tanned, so it stiffens with use instead of going limp.
Cast, not stamped. Rated D-rings and quick-release buckles that patina instead of flaking.
Sized for the leather it goes through, and rivets set behind it wherever the strap carries a load.
Beveled, sanded, slicked with gum, sealed with wax. Four passes, no paint.

How long until it ships?
5–6 weeks — everything is made after the order comes in. Rush placement is +$60 and ships in 10 business days.
How do I measure for a radio strap?
Over your full turnout coat: right shoulder, across the chest, to the radio at your left hip. Double it, add 4". Between sizes, go up — a strap can be shortened, not lengthened.
What can I have stamped?
Up to 16 characters in 3/8" block letters — last name, badge number, company, or department. Maltese cross and custom stamps are quoted case by case.
Do you do department orders?
Yes — six pieces or more gets bulk pricing and one invoice. Purchase orders are fine; net 30 for departments.
Can I return a custom piece?
Stamped and made-to-measure pieces can't be returned. If the fit or workmanship is wrong, I fix or remake it at no charge — email me first.
Is the leather NFPA rated?
No. This is traditional veg-tanned leather gear, not certified PPE — check your department's policy before you carry it on the fireground.
