Built at a bench between shifts.

I grew up in a small town in Southern Indiana, in a family that valued honesty, hard work, and showing up for each other. September 11th changed the direction of my life. I was in eighth grade, and it planted something I couldn’t shake. I’ve been a firefighter in Indiana since 2005, and in 2013 I enlisted in the Navy Reserves as an aviation electronics technician, serving until 2021. Between the two, I’ve spent most of my adult life on the job everyone else counts on to show up.

The leatherwork started because I missed having a creative outlet. I used to draw, growing up. And it started because I watched a coworker retire from the department and go straight back to work somewhere else, miserable, because retirement on its own wasn’t enough for him. I don’t want that. I want a craft that’s mine, that gives me something to build toward and control over what comes next.

So I taught myself the bench, and I still am. Every piece, whether a radio strap, a belt, or a passport panel, starts as a conversation about what you actually need, not a catalog page. I source as much as I can from the USA, Europe, and Canada, because the materials that go into something are what make it worth trusting for a career, not a season.

What I won’t compromise on is simple: honest communication, and never cutting a corner on quality to make a faster dollar. I’m not interested in being the cheapest option. I’m interested in you getting exactly what you asked for, and knowing you can call me directly if you don’t.

This is still a young shop. But it’s built by someone who has worn the gear, and who intends to still be answering the phone herself twenty years from now.
