Firefighter Radio Strap
Cut from a single side of 9–10 oz Hermann Oak veg-tanned leather, 1.5" wide, edges beveled, slicked, and waxed. The anti-sway strap is included, and some shops charge extra for it. The radio bucket is a standard size and takes the largest portable, so there is no model to pick.

How to measure
- Most people wear the strap under their bunker gear, so measure that way.
- Decide where you want the radio bucket to sit.
- Measure from one side of the bucket, up and around your shoulder, to the other side.
- Include the clips in the total.

Built for the job
The shoulder run is cut on the tight side of your measurement and set at an angle, so the radio stays against your body instead of swinging into a doorway.
Tell me the model and holder and the tail is cut and punched for it. No universal loop, no slop, no tape.
Copper rivets behind the D-ring and the tail fold, where every strap eventually tears.
Heavy enough to hold its shape over a coat, tempered so it breaks in without going limp.
Stitching, hardware, resizing. Send back anything I made and I'll put it right. You pay shipping.

Nothing is cut before you order. Five weeks of bench time, in this order.
01Measurements read against your radio and holder. If something looks off, I call before a knife touches the hide.
02Laid out on a single Hermann Oak side, around scars and stretchy belly, so your strap is one continuous piece.
03Name, department, or badge struck in 1 inch letters. Hardware riveted at the stress points.
04Stitched, then hardware riveted at the stress points. Nothing gets rushed to hit a ship date.
05Edges slicked and waxed, leather oiled once, then UPS with a care card.

Sizing & FAQ
What radios do the straps fit?
The radio buckets are designed to fit large radios. My department runs Motorola APX, which is comparable in size to both Harris and Kenwood radios, and it fits without any issues. Questions or concerns, contact me.
Will the leather stretch?
Yes, leather moves and stretches. That's why straps are cut on the tight side of your measurement.
How long until my order ships?
5–6 weeks from when you order. Everything is made after the order comes in. Rush placement is +$60 and ships in 10 business days.
Can you match my department's specs?
Usually. Send the spec sheet or a photo of an approved piece through the custom order form and I'll tell you straight whether I can match it.
